I had no idea that South Africa had such a very interesting history I just didn't know and I was happy to read the history in an hour so now I'm going to research other history books about South Africa and the folks mentioned in the book..It is such a shame our school system is so lacking and our children have no knowledge of the past....
While on a three week visit last year to South Afrika I read the long walk to freedom by Nelson Mandella. This and being from the Netherlands now living in the USA, lead me further my knowledge about the history of this country. Anyone who is gong to visit South Afrika should read this book first and will understand and appreciate this fascinating country.
Great overview of South Africa. I bought the kindle edition, and felt the length and style of this book were perfect for the kindle format. I would read other books in this series. Reading this won't make you an expert on South Africa but will give you enough context to be able to dive deeper into other books.I bought this to help me write a paper on South Africa history, and felt it was worth the investment.
