Nice detailed example code
I think this book is available online in its full version where the author offers access to the source code on GitHub. I would have liked to see at least all of the basic layout done using XAML but it isn't a deal breaker. New-comers will have, most likely, already latched on to XAML as their UI coding preference before finding this book.The concepts demonstrated in this book are very valuable to a new Xamarin Forms developer--clear and concise. I hope the author is able to update this book as the platform evolves. This is a much needed resource as the various examples found through search are often out of date and the Xamarin website is scant on examples.
