I found it comforting to read the same thoughts that were running through my head on my first acquisition and even now during our second attempt. Right on point. An easy read and great primer on M&A. I also saw him speak this weekend at an IT conference. Great speaker.
As an avid reader, I love when I find a book that is chalked with useful information but avoids going on and on. Bly's book is the perfect mix of useful information in an easy to digest format. I would strong recommend this to anyone.
First of all Amazon - why can't we do 1/2 stars?? And Secondly Amazon can you somehow remove the review bots that gives books countless 5 Stars regardless of the quality. The book is OK - I suppose. I personally dislike books where the author plugs his service, company website, business or whatever but rather than focus on the subject matter in the book, which is exactly what this book does. The book then becomes marketing for his service and whatever the message of the book is, is lost. The author probably thinks he's getting some excellent PR via his book..but it devalues the content of the book. This author pumps his business and his non "CPA" persona ad nauseam.The book talks about growing a business through acquisition without going into too much detail. The book is a decent enough overview I supposed but the message is a little distorted as I mentioned above.

This is especially important when you need to hire an expert (accountant, appraiser, attorney) to evaluate and effect the aspects of the deal. It is essential to business owners who need to know what is involved.
I just finished reading this book and was impressed with the information provided. This book focuses on M&A for business under 30 million down to 100k, there are not many M&A books out there that hit this underserved niche. I would recommend to anyone wanting to grow their business though acquisitions and anyone wishing to sell their company.
